I know that you, like me, are constantly looking for the best of the best when it comes to television dramas. I have personally watched countless dramas, both foreign and local, and while some have touched my heart, very few have managed to captivate my full attention with their storylines and characters. Here, in no particular order, are the top 10 dramas that you won’t want to miss in 2022 (that includes now)!
1) The Crown
Successfully produced by Netflix, The Crown is about Queen Elizabeth II of England and her family. A television series with a budget of $130 million, it stars Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II and Matt Smith as Prince Philip. Currently, it's up for six Golden Globe Awards including Best Drama and Best Actress. Whether you love or hate drama, The Crown will make you addicted.
2) House of Cards
House of Cards is an American political drama television series created and produced by Beau Willimon. It is an adaptation of a previous BBC miniseries of the same name, which starred Ian Richardson and Anthony Hopkins. The series stars Kevin Spacey as Francis Underwood, the Majority Whip. The first season originally aired on Netflix from February 1 to May 30, 2013, with eight episodes made available for viewing. Season two was released on February 14, 2014.

Helping transport drug money ten years earlier for her then-girlfriend, Alex Vause (Laura Prepon). This Netflix series is highly rated and has received several awards over its three seasons so far.

This CW show isn’t exactly a drama, but it’s a gripping superhero story you’ll want to follow for years. Based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) returns home after being stranded on an island for five years. Upon his return, he vows to clean up Star City and fight back against those who prey upon its citizens. The series is currently in its sixth season and shows no signs of slowing down—which means there will be plenty of time for new fans to catch up before Season 7 premieres next year.

The fan-favorite series came to an end back in 2017, but it’s getting rebooted with a sequel that will pick up where the original series left off. Pretty Little Liars was an ABC Family hit until it ended its seven-season run last year. Fans of Freeform’s hit show have been begging for more ever since, and their prayers are about to be answered—but we won’t be seeing what everyone wants.

Breaking Bad is a TV drama series created and produced by Vince Gilligan. Set and produced in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Breaking Bad is the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with advanced lung cancer at age 50. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), to secure his family's financial future before he dies.
10) The Sopranos
The New Jersey-based crime drama will return for one more season, as a prequel set thirty years before its ending. Set in 1986, viewers can catch up with Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) as he embarks on his rise to power within New Jersey’s DeCavalcante crime family. The series was nominated for three Emmys and six Golden Globes—it never won an Emmy or a Globe during its original run.
